Plato finally concluded his argument on equality opportunity for men and women in their occupations and leadership, which is, in his opinion, not only possible but also preferable. He then illustrated what ideal society and family units should be, that gives us some light the true practicality.
"It follows from what we have said, and from our whole previous argument, that our men and women Guardians should be forbidden by law to live together in separate households, and that wives should be held in common by all; similarly, children should be held in common, and no parent should know his child, or child his parent"
We know from history that this had and will never happen. It seems enough to defeat the whole argument of equality for women and men, if that requires above social constitution. Maybe after all, my research interest is still valid.
